The Digital Switchover 2011
Most of the country already has access to digital TV, but the government wants to make sure that everyone has access to better programming - some people still can’t get Channel Five. So the government’s plan is that by switching to digital, television will be fairer for everyone.
The analogue signal will be replaced with the digital one, which carries an array of free channels, including the current BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4, and Five
When your home switches to digital will depend on where you live in the UK, East Anglia is due to switch November 2011
When your area is ready to switchover, the government will switch off the analogue signal and you will have to have the correct equipment to continue watching.
All households will need a TV with either freeview or freesat built in  or a freeview or freesat set top box connected to there existing TV to receive digital channels and if you wish to record something different to what you are watching a recorder with freeview or freesat built in

Switchover in our region will see analogue TV channels switched off permanently in two stages.

All NR Postcodes (Talconeston Transmitter)

November 23rd 2011 Stage 2 (All Analogue channels will be switched off)
To continue viewing TV after this date you will need to have either a digital TV or digital set top box, freesat or Sky
